Configuring SOAP headers and authentication for web services


This section describes how  authenticates requests that come in to a web service published by , and how to configure authentication information in order to consume an  or other external web service. Authentication information consists of a user name and password, which are included in the SOAP packet, usually in the header.

Warning

Authentication information in SOAP headers or other web services communication can be in plain text. To ensure the security of the authentication information in a SOAP header in this case, configure the web server to use https.
