Adding content to a package
To add a packing list to a package
- In the Package Details console, from the Content Type list in the Deployment Package Contents panel, select Add Packing List.
- From the Include Object Type list, select if you want to add Base only, Overlay only or Both type of objects to the package.
- Base only—Displays all the out-of-the-box objects.
- Overlay only—Displays only the overlay and custom objects.
- Both—Displays all the overlay and custom objects along with their base objects.
- In the Packing List Name field, enter the name of the packing list or click Search to select existing packing lists created in BMC Remedy Developer Studio. For more information, see Creating-and-managing-packing-lists.
- Click Add.
To add a definition to a package
- In the Package Details console, from the Content Type list in the Deployment Package Contents panel, select Add Definition.
- From the Include Object Type list, select if you want to add Base only, Overlay only or Both type of objects to the package.
- Base only—Displays all the out-of-the-box objects.
- Overlay only—Displays only the overlay and custom objects.
- Both—Displays all the overlay and custom objects along with their base objects.
- Enter the information in the required fields:
- From the Type of Object list, select the required definition type.
- In the Name of Object field, enter the name of the relevant object.
You can also click Search to select object you created in BMC Remedy Developer Studio.
- Click Add.
You can select multiple objects by clicking CTRL + Select.
To add AR object to a package
- In the Package Details console, from the Content Type list in the Deployment Package Contents panel, select Add AR Definition.
- From the Type Of Object list, select Container.
- From the Include Object Type list, select if you want to add Base only, Overlay only, or Both type of objects to the package.
In the Name of Object+ field, perform the following:
- If you know the name of the object, type the object name and press Enter.
- If you do not know the name of the object, open the object search form by pressing Enter in the field.
The RDA:DeploymentObjectSearch form opens.
- From the Type of Container list, select an option.
The following options are available:- Active Link Guide
- Application
- Packing List
- Filter Guide
- WebService
- Click Search.
The list of available objects is displayed. - Click Select.
The selected AR object is added to the application package.
To add a delete definition command to a package
- In the Package Details console, from the Content Type list in the Deployment Package Contents panel, select Delete Definition.
- From the Include Object Type list, select if you want to delete Base only, Overlay only or Both type of objects from the package.
- Base only—Displays all the out-of-the-box objects.
- Overlay only—Displays only the overlay and custom objects.
- Both—Displays all the overlay and custom objects along with their base objects.
- Enter information in the required fields:
- From the Type of Object list, select the required definition file.
- In the Name of Object field, enter the name of the object.
You can also click Search to select the object that should be deleted from the environment when the package is deployed.
- Click Add to delete the files from the package.
You can select multiple objects by clicking CTRL + Select.
To add data to a package
- In the Package Details console, from the Content Type list in the Deployment Package Contents panel, select Add Data.
Enter information in the required fields:
- From the Form Name list, select the name of the form from where you want to add the data or click Search to select the form.
- The items in the Data Qualification list are populated based on the form you select from the Form Name list.
From the Data Qualification list select the fields that you want to add to build the qualification to select the data. - Select an option from Import Option field.
Merge No Rollback—Retains the existing content and adds new package content. You cannot rollback the package.
Overwrite and Rollback—Overwrites the existing content with new package content. You can rollback the package.
Merge and Rollback—Retains the existing content and adds new package content. You can rollback the package. - Select the following options for Suppress Filters:
- Yes—Suppress all the filters that are applied on the records.
- No—Execute all the filters that are applied on the records.
- From the Duplicate Request Ids list, select an option.
From the Match Duplicates By list, select the fields with which you want to find the duplicate records.
Ensure that the fields selected from Match Duplicates By list are same to the fields selected from the Data Qualification list. If duplicate records are found, the action is taken based on the option you have selected in step e.- From the Data Import Mode list, select an appropriate option:
- Base Mode—Use this option when you are creating a deployment package by using an out-of-the-box option.
- Overlay Mode—Use this option when you are building a custom deployment package.
The Data Import Mode is not considered when you build a package. Remedy Deployment application exports data from all fields. When you deploy the package, the data import depends on the customization type and the data import mode combination. Refer to the following table:

- Click Add.
To add to a package
- In the Package Details console, from the Content Type list in the Deployment Package Contents panel, select SRM.
- To add Service Request Definition, perform the following steps:
- From SRM RequestType, select Service Request Definition.
- From SRD Name, select the existing SRD created in Service Request Management. For more information on creating SRD, see Creating a standard SRD.
- To add Process Definition Template, perform the following steps:
- From SRM RequestType, select Process Definition Template.
- From PDT Name, select the existing PDTs created in Service Request Management. For more information on creating PDT, see Creating a standard PDT.
- To add Supporting data, select Supporting data from SRM RequestType.
- Click Add.
To add HRCM to a package
- In the Package Details console, from the Content Type list in the Deployment Package Content panel, select HRCM.
- Enter the information in the required fields:
- From the HRCM Data Type list, select Solution.
- The items in the Data Qualification list are populated based on the form you select from the Form Name list.
From the Data Qualification list select the fields to build an expression to retrieve the data that can be included in the package.
- Click Add.
To add an application object to a package
When you select an application object, you can create a package using the following options. The options are available depending on your permissions. For more information on permissions, see Promoting configurations and customizations across environments:
- Incident template
- Change template
- Work Order template
- Task template or task group template
- Custom application
- Service targets
- In the Package Details console, from the Content Type list in the Deployment Package Contents panel, select Application Object.
- The options in the Type field are populated based on the permissions you have.
- If you have any custom application, you can view the same in this list.
- When you select an Incident Template, the Name field is populated with the template authoring company and template category information.
When you select Change Template or Work Order Template, the Name field is populated with the template location company and template category information.
- Enter the information about the package in the Content Description field.
- Click Add.
For the out-of-the-box Change Template;
- Manually add Category 1 if a category is not displayed when you add out-of-the-box Change template as an application object.
- Ensure that Category 1 is defined on the source and the destination server.

To add a Deployment Payload to a package
- In the Package Details console, from the Content Type list in the Deployment Package Content panel, select Deployment Payload.
- Select Deployment Payload Group Name from the list.
- Click Add.

To add a Definition to a package
- In the Package Details console, from the Content Type list in the Deployment Package Content panel, select SmartIT Definition.
- Enter the Content Description.
- Select the specific Object Type that you want to export.
For example, select Screen with Contents to export screen configuration information.
- Select an appropriate option from the Overlay Type field.
- Click Add.
The FND:SmartIT Layout Object Search Dialog box is displayed. - Select the screen for which you want to export the configuration information. To export the information of specific fields, you must select the screen and the panel where the fields appear.
- Click Add and then Save.

To add a CDM definition to a package
- In the Package Details console, from the Content Type list in the Deployment Package Contents panel, select CMDB .
- From the CMDB Object Type list, select Add Class or Add Attributes.
- Click Add. A dialog box to add the object type opens.
- In the Name of Object field, enter the class name or attribute name.
- (Optional) To search CMDB Class with name, click Search. The object search dialog lists the matching CMDB Class or Attribute objects.
- (Only for Add Class) If you want to include child classes for the selected class, select Yes from the Include Child Classes list. The default value is No.
- (Only for Add Attributes) If you want to include the attributes for the selected class, select Yes from the Add Attributes list. The default is No.
- To add the selected object, click Add and then click Save .
