Managing predefined search criteria
The following buttons are available in the Sources section of the Advanced Search window in the Knowledge Management Console:
Button | Description |

Add/Modify | Saves the knowledge source selections or overwrites your existing preferences. |
Restore | Clears the current selection and re-applies your preferred sources. Note: This button is displayed only after you click Add/Modify and save your source preferences for the first time. |
Remove | Deletes your preferred sources. Thereafter, global search displays results from all available sources. Note: This button is displayed only after you click Add/Modify and save your source preferences for the first time. |
Using your preferred criteria to perform a search
When you perform a simple search or a global search, the Use Preferences check box is displayed next to the Search field. The Use Preferences check box is selected by default and is locked. Search results are limited to the saved sources.
When you perform an advanced search, click Restore to clear the selected sources and re-apply your preferred sources.
The Use Preferences check box is displayed only if you have saved your source preferences by clicking Add/Modify on the Advanced Search screen.
