Viewing CI relationships
BMC Atrium Explorer shows configuration items (CIs) and their relationships to other CIs within BMC CMDB, thereby enabling you to improve the accuracy of change planning by locating the CI. To use BMC Atrium Explorer to view CI relationships with BMC CMDB version 20.02.01 or later
- From the Change Management console, choose Functions > Time Segments > Configuration Item (CI).
- In the CI Advanced Search dialog box, search for a CI.
- From the CI Search Results table, select a CI and then click Explore CI.
- From the list of related CIs that are displayed, select the filter to use to limit the data shown in the relationship viewer.
- The relationship image is reloaded with the selected data.
To use BMC Atrium Explorer to view CI relationships with BMC CMDB version 20.02 and earlier
- From the Change Management console, choose Functions > Time Segments > Configuration Item (CI).
- In the CI Advanced Search dialog box, search for a CI.
- From the CI Search Results table, select a CI and then click Explore CI.
- From the Template list of the BMC Atrium Explorer, select the filter to use to limit the data shown in the relationship viewer.
A filter template specifies a criteria for the relationship information that appears in the relationship viewer. - Click Refresh to apply the selected filter template.
- The relationship image is reloaded with the selected data. The legend on the right pane shows the relationship types.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
