Post-installation configurations
This topic contains the configuration steps once the application is deployed.
Visual Board General Settings
Here, you need to add the Smart IT URL in Administration > Visual Board > General:
- The URL to enter will be - https://CUSTOMER URL /smartit/app/#/ (e.g.,https://example-smartit.onbmc.com/smartit/app/#/) Add the same URL in Smart IT and save the changes. This is done so, that when you open the edit view of an item from Visual Board, It can redirect you to the correct view.
To adapt the multisource Kanban board for BMC Helix ITSM
To use Multi-Source Kanban Board for ITSM in your environment the JSON configuration needs to be adapted. To edit it, go to the Records tab in Extension Toolbox Library and select “Kanban Multisource Config” record definition, and click on "Edit Data".
- Select the record instance with the identifier "ITSM - Incident & Workorder" and click "Edit". A blade opens:
- Perform the following changes in the JSONConfig field, recommended method would be to copy the whole configuration and paste it into an editor:
- Search the entire string "recordDefinitionName": "HPD:Help Desk", here if scroll some lines down you will find a "link" attribute, here change the Smart IT URL "link": "https://<CUSTOMER_SPECIFIC_BASE_URL>.com/smartit/app/#/incident/".
- Search the entire string "recordDefinitionName": "WOI:WorkOrder", here if scroll some lines down you will find a "link" attribute, here change the Smart IT URL "link": "https://<CUSTOMER_SPECIFIC_BASE_URL>.com/smartit/app/#/workorder/" .
- Once these URLs are changed click on save. This is done so, that when you open the edit view of an item from Visual Board, It can redirect you to the correct view.
- This is the end of all configuration that needs to be done for Fusion Visual Boards.
After all these configurations go to the Workspace tab > Visual Boards > Visit Deployed Application and you will get the Kanban Board configured for Business Workflows and ITSM – Case and Work order by default. The below screenshot shows a sample data of Incidents and Work orders:
Click on the link icon, marked with the red square, this will open up that item in Smart-IT:
- A detailed view of the corresponding incident or work order will open in a new tab.
- By following the above steps you can configure ITSM as a data source in Fusion Visual Board for your application.
