Kanban Board

Introduction

Fusion Visual Boards graphically visualize incidents, cases, work orders, and tasks according to Agile Work Methodology. Kanban visualizes tickets or records in order to manage flow, limit work in progress, make feedback and policies clear, and improve collaboration and user experience.

Here, you can use Kanban based on two different data sources:

  • Single-Source. Create a Kanban Board for an object, providing one lane per status value. Hide any status values that are not required.
  • Multi-Source.  Create a Kanban Board for incidents and work orders, with flexible configurations that combine lanes by one or more statuses, such as assigned and pending work orders and assigned incidents in a single “In Backlog" lane.

Functionality

Purpose

1.

Label

Name on Kanban board.

Here, "Tasks" which means the Kanban board is for Tasks record definition.

You can define the Label in the "General" property.

2.

Filter

We can use available filters to see the data based on the selected one. Pre-defined filters help to see data based on fields.

A filter can be configured in the "Filters" property.

3.

Available presets

By default filter presets are available to sort the data based on the selected ones.

e.g. If we select preset as "Modified within the last 30 days" Tasks that are modified within the last 30 days will be displayed.

4.

Toggle button

The Kanban board gives us the flexibility to view by people or by groups. By default, it's by people which are displayed in the below chip-bar. If the toggle button is enabled then Support groups are displayed on the chip bar.

Groups can be configured in the "Group Configuration" property.

5.

Chip-bar

The chip bar shows People or Groups whatever is selected by using the toggle button.

It helps in associating the Person/Group to the Task which is displayed in the lanes. If we need to assign, re-assign any task to a particular Person/Group with just drag-drop can be very easily done.

6.

Status Lanes

Kanban board displays status lanes "Assigned", "Pending", "Closed". Here, we can see data based on "Selection Field, Flowset and Behavior. Depending on the selection the lanes display the incidents, tasks.

For every Task record the Kanban board displays the Task ID, Summary, Assigned to, Last modified by, to that Task. These fields can be selected from the "Entry" property pane.

7.

Pen icon (Edit button)

For every task which is displayed on the Kanban board, a pen icon is provided on it. This edit option helps in editing the task there on the Kanban board itself. Click on the pen icon a custom view will be displayed with minimal required fields, changes done to get saved and are immediately reflected on the board.

This can be done from the "Custom blade settings" property.

8.

Arrow icon

Arrow icon opens the Task in edit mode i.e. it takes you to the task console and allows you to make changes.

9.

Lane Change Dialog

Status of a Task can be changed from the board. We can simply drag the Task from one lane to another.

e.g. If Task#001 is in the "New" lane and we want to move it to "Pending" simply click on the task drag and drop it on the "New" lane.

A custom view will be open which will ask the user the reason to change the status, once mention lane will be changed and changes will be displayed on the board. This can be configured in "Custom Lane Change view settings". Refer below screenshot for the same.
