Enabling the Kanban Board and Gnatt chart for Smart IT


This topic contains the steps to configure the ITSM Kanban Board and Gantt Chart of Visual Boards on Smart IT. 

To set up the Kanban Board for incident and workorders

  1. To link the Kanban Board in Smart IT you need to login with admin credentials on Smart IT URL – 
    https://<CUSTOMER URL>smartit.onbmc.com/smartit/app/#/.
  2.  Login with an admin user and click on "Configuration" and further on "Screen Configuration" in the navigation bar.
  3. Click on Add/Remove Menu item: New Menu Item
  4. Provide the below parameters:



      • Label Text – “Kanban ITSM Incident & Work Order”

      • Click on Save to save the configuration
  5. The added new item is displayed in the "More" navigation menu.
  6. Once you click on the link the Visual Board Kanban Board view for Incident and Workorder opens.

To enable the Gantt chart feature for viewing work orders and tasks

  1. Similarly, we can add the Gantt Chart for workorders. Go to Configurations > Screen Configuration and in the section "Work Order View" click on "Add/Remove Actions".

  2. Provide the below parameters:

      1. URL - < https://example-is.onbmc.com/innovationsuite/index.html#/com.fusiongbs.visual/iview/com.fusiongbs.visual:Gantt-ITSM-Workorder?param=[id]
      2. Localization – as per your language
      3. Label Text – “Open Gantt”
      4. Click on Save to save the configuration
  3. Once saved it displays in the "More" navigation menu.
  4. Once you click on “Open Gantt” below view will be displayed.

  • The Gantt Chart shows a work order and the associated tasks and task groups in a graphical sequence.
  • The planned start and end values are used to identify the dependencies of the tasks in sequence. 
  • The times of the tasks can be changed by drag & drop.  
  • Canceled tasks will not be displayed in the project view of Gantt.
