Adding the Idea page to BMC Helix Digital Workplace

This section contains the steps to add the "Idea" page for BMC Helix Digital Workplace.

To establish a connection to BMC Helix Digital Workplace

  1. DWP and BMC Helix Innovation Studio connection settings should be done. For this go to BMC Helix Innovation Studio > Administration > Settings > Configure My Server > Connection Mapping > Digital Workplace.
  2. You should be DWP Admin to perform these operations. Enter the valid BMC Helix Digital Workplace URL with a valid username and password.

  3. Click on Digital Workplace Catalog - Enter the correct URLs for BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog and save the changes.

  4. Click on Helix Platform > Iframe Security – Click on "+" and add the URL - Add BMC Helix Digital Workplace, BMC Helix Digital Catalog and BMC Helix Innovation Studio URLs and save the changes.

  5. Add the DWP URLs – Save the changes. 

To add the Idea page to BMC Helix Digital Workplace

  1. To set up the "Idea" page in DWP you need to be DWP admin user. 
  2. Login with DWP admin URL –  https://<CUSTOMER URL>/dwp/admin/
  3. After login with DWP Admin – Click on Configuration.

  4. Click on - Application Features and check that BMC Helix Platform is enabled. If BMC Helix Platform is not installed, then follow the below BMC page for configuration –  Enabling-integration-with-BMC-Helix-Digital-Workplace-Advanced-and-BMC-Helix-Business-Workflows.

  5. Check the option "BMC Helix Platform" - Click on "Add Page".

  6. Provide the required parameters: Page Name – Idea

    URL – https://<CUSTOMER-URL/helix/index.html#/com.fusiongbs.agility-suite/iview/com.fusiongbs.agility:IdeaDWPConsole

    Make sure the URL has “i” added (Highlighted in bold)

    Page locale – Locale as per your preference

    Page Name – Idea

    Click on the Save button to create the Page

  7. A success message will pop up. Now access the DWP console to validate if the idea page has been created successfully. 
  8. We can now see the "Idea" page getting added next to the "Location" tab.

  9. “Create New Idea” will help users to create new ideas. Refer to Idea Management Documentation to learn more.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
