Technical use case
- An event is sent by an event source to an event adapter.
- The event adapter converts the event from its native format into the mcell format and starts the process of assigning values to slots.
- BMC ProactiveNet Performance Analytics completes the event normalization and enrichment (including data from the CMDB, Master Rule Language (MRL) rules, policy rules, and flat files). By the end of these activities, the event has been enriched for:
- Categorization to suite Probable Cause Analysis
- Slot name = mc_category
- Dynamic device grouping
