Creating incidents with minimal information


You can create incidents by passing minimal information (such as just the problem description) as the summary. The ability to create incidents with minimal information ensures faster and guaranteed incident creation.

To create incidents with minimal information

  1. Using a web service client such as the SOAP UI client, enter the web service URL in the following format:
    1. http://myMidTierServer:8080/arsys/WSDL/public/myARServer/HPD_IncidentServiceInterface
  2. Expand the Create_Incident operation and create a new request.
  3. In the Summary tag, enter a problem description.

  4. Submit the web service request.

An incident with the following default field values is created:

  • Impact = “1-Extensive/Widespread”
  • Urgency = “1-Critical”
  • Incident Type = “Infrastructure Event”
  • Reported Source = “Other”
