Enabling BMC Service Resolution on BMC Control-M Workload Automation
The following topics are provided:
Before you begin
Perform the required tasks.
- Install the following applications:
- BMC Control-M Enterprise Manager
- Remedy IT Service Management (Remedy ITSM) 8.1 Service Pack 2 or Remedy ITSM 9.0 or Remedy ITSM 9.0 SP1
- BMC ProactiveNet 9.5 SP2
- BMC Service Resolution 3.5 for Remedy ITSM
- BMC Service Resolution 3.5 for ProactiveNet
- Publish web services on the Remedy Mid Tier
- Install and configure the EM API in the %EM_HOME% \ctmticket directory on the BMC Control-M Workload Automation system.
- BMC recommends that the EM API is installed and configured in the %EM_HOME%\ctmticket directory
- Set the EM_HOME environment variable to the <Control-M_patchInstallFolder\Default folder
- Download the emapi-800-nt.zip file. For more information, see .
To enable BMC Service Resolution on BMC Control-M Workload Automation
- Go to the <BSR_installationFolder>ARServer/Control_M folder.
- (Windows) Unzip the Release.3.5.zip folder.
(Linux) Untar the Release.3.5.tar directory. - (Windows) In the unzipped folders that you see, unzip the Release.3.5.zip subfolder.
(Linux) In the untarred directories that you see, untar the Release.3.5.tar subdirectory. - Install the EM API.
- Configure the EM API installation.
For complete installation and configuration instructions, see the attached . - To install CtmTicket, copy the Release.3.5.zip/ctmticket folder in a folder called ctmticket within the emapi-800 folder.
- Copy the jacorb.properties file from the <Control-M_patchInstallFolder>\Default\emapi-800 folder to the <Control-M_patchInstallFolder>\Default\emapi-800\ctmticket folder.
- If you are integrating with Remedy ITSM, set the passwords with the help of the following scripts located at <Control-M_patchInstallFolder>\Default\emapi-800\ctmticket\bin:
- SetControlMPassword
- SetRemedyPassword
At the command prompt, go to <Control-M_patchInstallFolder>\Default\emapi-800\ctmticket and run the following commands:
- bin\SetControlMPassword
- bin\SetRemedyMPassword
The passwords are encrypted in the file. - If you are integrating with BMC ProactiveNet, set the passwords with the help of the following scripts located at <Control-M_patchInstallFolder>\Default\emapi-800\ctmticket\bin:
- SetControlMPassword
- SetTrueSightPassword
At the command prompt, go to <Control-M_patchInstallFolder>\Default\emapi-800\ctmticket and run the following commands:
- bin\SetControlMPassword
- bin\SetTrueSightPasswordThe passwords are encrypted in the file. - Perform postinstallation configuration tasks.
Postinstallation configuration
After you enable BMC Service Resolution for BMC Control-M Workload Automation, perform the postinstallation configuration tasks that are appropriate for your installation:
- To integrate with Incident Management, see Integrating-BMC-Control-M-Workload-Automation-with-BMC-Service-Desk-Incident-Management.
- To integrate with Event Management, see Integrating-BMC-Control-M-Workload-Automation-with-ProactiveNet.
- To configure Control-M alarm attributes as operational categories, see Configuring-Control-M-alarm-field-attributes-as-operational-categories.
- To configure Control-M alarm attributes as work info of an incident, see Configuring-Control-M-alarm-field-attributes.
