Setting debugging options for BMC PATROL for Windows Azure
Use the following instructions to set the debugging option. Debug displays all messages from both BMC PATROL and Windows Azure in a text window. This information can be useful for troubleshooting your installation or configuration.
To set general debugging options by using menu-commands
- Right-click the Windows Azure icon and select KM Commands > Debug Azure.
The Debug dialog box displays the following options.- KM Debug: Select one or more following options if you want debugging information for the Knowledge Module (KM).
- Request Debug: Activates or deactivates debugging for all requests sent from BMC PATROL for Windows Azure to collector.
- Response Debug: Activates or deactivates debugging for all responses sent from collector to BMC PATROL for Windows Azure.
- Create Debug: Activates or deactivates debugging for all Create strings received by BMC PATROL for Windows Azure from collector.
- Delete Debug: Activates or deactivates debugging for all Delete strings received by BMC PATROL for Windows Azure from collector.
- Batch Debug: Activates or deactivates debugging for all strings that contains the values which set the KM parameters and InfoBoxes.
- Collector Debug: Select one or more following options if you want debugging information for the collector parameters.
- Off: Deactivates debugging for all collector parameters.
- All: Activates debugging for all collector para,meters .
- Fine: Activates debugging and provides some information about the collector parameters.
- Finer: Activates debugging and provides more information about the collector parameters.
- Finest: Activates debugging and provides the most information about the collector parameters.
- Info: Activates debugging and provides information only about the information messages generated for the collector parameters.
- Severe: Activates debugging and provides information only about the severe messages for the collector parameters.
- Warning: Activates debugging and provides information only about the warning messages for the collector parameters.
- KM Debug: Select one or more following options if you want debugging information for the Knowledge Module (KM).
- Click Apply.
The settings are applied. When the account is discovered or configured, debugging messages appear in a task output window. - Click Exit.
KM debugging output is redirected to the System Output Window (SOW). Collector debugging generates a log file in the Patrol3/paf directory. The log file is named as RemoteCollector-agentPortNo-azure.log.0.
