BMC Performance Manager for PaaS provides Knowledge Modules (KMs) to facilitate the monitoring of the PaaS provided by various cloud vendors. The KMs monitor the public cloud environments to check instance availability and to collect performance metrics. Additionally, BMC Performance Manager for PaaS provides the following features:
- Support for multiple accounts
- Integration with BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management
- Event generation
BMC PATROL for Windows Azure features
BMC PATROL for Windows Azure monitors services that are provided by Windows Azure for instance availability. BMC PATROL for Windows Azure also collects performance metrics for the following Azure services:
- Hosted services
- Deployments
- Roles and role instances (only web and worker roles)
BMC PATROL for Force.com features
BMC PATROL for Force.com provides a set of files that contain knowledge in the form of menu commands, application classes, and parameters that BMC PATROL uses when monitoring the components of the Force.com cloud platform.
BMC PATROL for Force.com enables you to do the following:
- Configure and monitor multiple Force.com account instances
- Discover and display monitored objects
- Collect performance metrics for the configured accounts and monitors parameters like data storage usage, file storage usage, status of user licenses and API call usage
- Customize Force.com instances for monitoring
- Set thresholds to effectively monitor Force.com accounts
- Fine tune parameter values
- Provide full metadata support for automated integration with BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management.
- Manage BMC PATROL for Force.com from all BMC Consoles
