Service Cost Analysis By Cost Elements portlet


You can use the Service Cost Analysis By Cost Elements portlet to display the total cost contributed by the cost elements in the cost models for a service for the specified fiscal period. The application uses the cost model scenario that you select to identify the cost models and cost model elements related to the service.

The following figure shows the Service Cost Analysis By Cost Elements portlets for Actual and Planned cost views .

The Service Cost Analysis By Cost Elements portlet displays the data in a table and in a pie chart. The portlet displays the following values:

  • Cost Elements: List of all cost model elements available for cost models
  • Total Cost: Total of all costs related to a cost model element. If the cost model element is used in multiple cost models, the application adds costs from all the cost models. For example, consider a Project cost model element that is associated with three cost models in a cost model scenario. The cost of Project cost model element in each cost model is $100.00. Then the application adds the cost of cost model element from each cost model and displays the total cost as $300.00 in the Total Cost column.

To configure the information displayed in the the Service Cost Analysis By Cost Elements portlet

  1. Click the Edit icon.
    The Edit Service Cost Analysis by Cost Elements Settings window is displayed, as shown in the following figure:

  2. In Title, type a title for this portlet.
  3. From the Cost Model Scenario list, select the cost model scenario.
  4. In IT Service, select the IT service for which you want to display the profit/loss information.
  5. In Fiscal Date, select a fiscal range to display.
  6. In Cost View, select the type of cost to view - Actual or Planned.
  7. Click Save.
