Setting your locale and currency preference

Selecting a locale for

determines the language and the formats for dates, times, and numbers that the user interface displays.

By default, BMC IT Business Management Suite is set to display in English. Depending on your installation, you can set it to display in other supported languages.

When you run BMC IT Business Management Suite for the first time, the software considers the language settings in your browser, as well. For example, if your browser is set to display in Spanish and you have installed the Spanish version of BMC IT Business Management Suite, then the Home page of BMC IT Business Management Suite is displayed in Spanish at the start of the software.

Additionally, when you run BMC IT Business Management Suite for the first time, the software considers the locale settings in the BMC Remedy AR System Server. For example, if the locale settings in the BMC AR System Server are set to display in French and you have installed the French version of the BMC IT Business Management Suite, then the Home page of BMC IT Business Management Suite is displayed in French at the start of the software.

If you select a locale for which

has not been translated, the interface displays the system's default language (specified at installation), but it uses the date, time, and number formats that are appropriate for the locale that you selected.

If the multi-currency feature is enabled, you can choose the currency in which you prefer to view costs in reports and rolled-up values. You can specify costs in any enabled currency when you type individual line items and values, but high-level totals are always displayed in your preferred currency. The conversion to your preferred currency in reports and rolled-up values is for consolidating heterogeneous costs for display purposes only — the underlying original values and currencies are not changed.
