Adding benefit analysis line items
Use the procedure in this topic to add a benefit analysis line item for a project.
To add a benefit analysis line item for a Project
- On the Project Details window, click the Benefit Analysis step.
The first time the Benefit Analysis Details section appears for a Project, a message on the screen advises you that no benefits have been entered. - Click Add.
Alternatively, on any Benefit Analysis Line Item Details window you can click New.
The New Benefit Analysis Line Item for Project window is displayed. - In the Name field, enter a name that identifies this benefit line item.
- From the Category list, select a benefit category.
- In the Description field, enter descriptive text.
- In the Amount field, enter the monetary value of this benefit analysis line item.
- If this benefit analysis line item extends into another fiscal month, click the Add Earlier Fiscal Month button or the Add Later Fiscal Month button, and enter the benefit in the additional month.
Repeat this step for any additional months, as needed. - To save the information you entered and display a blank New Benefit Analysis Line Item for Project window to enter a new benefit line item, click Save and New.
- When you have finished entering benefit analysis line items, click Save and Done.
The Benefit Analysis Details window appears for the last benefit analysis line item you created. After a benefit has been characterized for at least one line item, the Benefit Analysis Details window displays the benefit analysis line items by category. The window includes the subtotal for each category by month, the totals for each month, and the grand total for all months.
You can change the display, as follows:- To display all the benefit analysis line items for this Project, click Expand All.
- To display only the categories, click Collapse All.
- To expand a single category, click the plus ➕️ sign beside the category name.
- To collapse a single category, click the minus ➖️ sign beside the category name.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
