Program details

A program hierarchy consists of sub projects and programs linked together to form a hierarchy. A sub project or program can only be linked to one parent program at a given time.

When you create a hierarchical program, the program details are displayed on the Program Summary tab of the Program Details window as shown in the following figure.

The Program Summary tab consists of the following sections:

  • Status
Displays the hierarchy of the sub projects or programs that are liked as children of the selected program. You can use the Expand All and Collapse All options to expand or collapse the hierarchy.
  • Stakeholders
Displays the hierarchy of the sub projects or programs along with the stakeholders that are defined for each sub project or program. You can edit the details of each individual project to add or remove stakeholders.
  • Budget Goal
Displays the fields to specify high-level budget goal for the program. You can specify both Capital and Expense budget. To specify a value, click the corresponding cell in the budget table.
  • Financial Rollup
Displays the financial summary for the entire program. When you expand the sub program and project hierarchy, you can view the budgeted and actual data for each project and variance between the two values. You can also view the rolled up cost of the program. Additionally, you can view the variance between the high-level cost of the program and the rolled-up cost of all projects associated with the program.

The other tabs in the window for program hierarchy details are same as that of a project. For more details, see Following-a-project-lifecycle.
