Creating enterprise processes

In the Business Processes window, click the Enterprise Processes tab.
Click New.
The New Enterprise Process window appears.
In the Name field, type a unique name for the enterprise process.

Enter as much additional information as you have available. Clicking Edit next to any field launches the chooser for that field. Use the chooser to create relationships between the enterprise process and the other BMC Foundation objects you select. Click Save in each chooser to save your selections and close the chooser.

Use the following table to guide your responses in the New Business Process window.

Parent	Establishes a relationship between the enterprise process and the parent enterprise process you select. Selecting a parent for the enterprise process establishes its place in the hierarchy. Leaving this field blank automatically gives it top-level status.	Optional
Enterprise Process Owners	Establishes a relationship between the enterprise process and each process owner you select.	Optional
Executive Sponsors	Establishes a relationship between the enterprise process and each executive-level advocate you select.	Optional
Functional Group	Identifies the business function the enterprise process supports.	Optional	Demand Generation Product Development Shipping Customer Care Marketing Sales
Type	Identifies the type of enterprise process.	Optional	Financial Legal Customer Escalation
Importance Level	Identifies the importance of the enterprise process in relation to other enterprise processes. Characterizing the importance and health of an enterprise process helps you prioritize IT activities by identifying the processes most important to the organization and those that are unhealthy and require attention. Application Instances	Establishes a relationship between the enterprise process and each application instance you select. Establishing relationships between applications and enterprise processes identifies the applications on which your key enterprise processes depend.	Optional
Organizational Units	Establishes a relationship between the enterprise process and each organizational unit you select.	Optional
Vendors	Establishes a relationship between the enterprise process and each vendor you select.	Optional
Sarbanes-Oxley Related (This field appears only if your IT organization has not licensed BMC IT Controls Management.)	Identifies whether the enterprise process is related to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 reporting requirements.	Optional Check Box

To save all the information you entered and display a blank New Business Process window to create another enterprise process, click Save and New.
When you have finished creating enterprise processes, click Save and Done to save your changes and exit the New Business Process window.
The Enterprise Process Details window appears for the last enterprise process you created.
