Creating application interface instances

Use the information in this topic to create application interface instances.

To create an application interface instance

1. On the Application Interface Instances title bar in the Application Interface Details window or in the Application Interface Instance Details window, click New.
   The New Application Interface Instance for Application Interface window appears as shown in the following figure:
   
   

   Click on the following image to expand it.
   
   The application interface instance you create is already linked to the parent application interface.

2. In the Name field, type a name for the application interface instance.

   When naming the instance, consider including an indication of the associated application interface to make the instance name a unique identifier for easy searching and selection later in the chooser, where the application interface name will not be visible.

3. Enter as much additional information as you have available. Click Edit next to any field to launch the chooser for that field. Use the chooser to create relationships between this application interface instance and the other BMC Foundation objects you select. In each chooser, click Save to save your selections and close the chooser.
   To guide your responses in the New Application Interface Instance window, refer to the following table.

   Release Version	Identifies the release of this installed application interface instance.
   Linked Application Instances	Establishes a relationship between this application interface instance and each application instance you select.
   Business Owners	Establishes a relationship between this application interface instance and each business owner you select.
   Executive Sponsors	Establishes a relationship between this application iInterface instance and each executive-level advocate you select.
   IT Staff	Establishes a relationship between this application interface instance and each IT Staff Member you select.
   Organizational Units	Establishes a relationship between this application interface instance and each organizational unit you select.
   Assets	Establishes a relationship between this application interface instance and each asset you select.
   Vendor Services	Establishes a relationship between this application interface instance and each vendor service you select.
   Expected Start Date	Specifies the start date entered for this application interface instance.	06/01/2009
   Expected End Date	Specifies the end date entered for this application interface instance.	06/30/2010

4. To save all the information you entered and display a blank New Application Interface Instance window to create another instance for the same application interface, click Save and New.
5. When you have finished creating application interface instances, click Save and Done to save your changes and exit the New Application Interface Instance window.
   The Application Interface Instance Details window appears for the last application interface instance you created.
