Verifying the upgrade


This page describes the main steps to take to verify that the upgrade succeeded.

To verify that the upgrade succeeded

  1. Examine the error logs. See the Working-with-logs section for information about this.
     No Severe errors should appear in bmcitbm_install_log.txt.
     For Windows, this log is in %temp%.
     For Linux, the logs are in the /tmp directory, but also check in the /temp directory for other products.
  2. Start the application server.
    No errors should occur.
  3. For JBoss, look at the console for listed errors.
  4. Log on to BMC IT Business Management Suite with username: itmadm and password: itmadmin.
    No errors should occur.
  5. Verify that you can see the Home page, data, and so forth.
    They should all be accessible.
  6. Review BMC IT Business Management Suite functions that were not changed, those that were enhanced, and those that are new.
     No errors should should appear in bmcitbm_install_log.txt.
