Upgrading to version 8.1
The BMC IT Business Management Suite installation program enables you to upgrade the product. The steps for upgrading to version 8.1 are the same as for a new installation.
To upgrade from versions 7.6.04 (or 7.6.04 SP1), 8.0 to 8.1
- If you use JBoss application server, delete all files from the following directories under ...\jboss-as\server for JBoss 4.3 or ...\jboss-as\server\productionfor JBoss 5.1.1
- work
- tmp
- data
- Complete the installation worksheet.
- Run the installation program.
- Complete the post-installation procedures.
To upgrade from version 7.6.03 to 8.1
- Stop the application server.
- Run the installation program.
- Migrate the organizational unit hierarchy in BMC Remedy AR System using the 7.6.03 to 7.6.04 Upgrade Helper.
- Start the application server.
- Complete the post-installation procedures.
To upgrade from version 3.8.x to 8.1
- Stop the application server.
- Set up the database server to manually update from version 3.8.x to 7.6.03.
- Run the installation program.
- Migrate data to BMC Atrium CMDB.
- Complete the post-installation procedures.
- Start the application server.
