Troubleshooting localization issues


This section describes the issue related to localization and the suggested solution.

The preferred Locale menu in the Settings window displays incorrect text for non supported locales in Internet Explorer, version 8.1.

You see this issue when East Asian language is not stored in the computer.

To display the language names correctly in Windows, complete the following steps:

  1. Install East Asian Languages 

    Tip

    When you are prompted for CD, select from C:/i386

  2. Select the steps based on your operating system.

In Windows XP

  1. Go to control panel - Regional and Language options - Advanced tab.
  2. Set regional setting to Chinese or other east Asian Language.
     Select a language to match the language version of the non-unicode programs you want to use.
  3. Restart Windows.

In Windows 7

  1. Go to control panel - Clock, Language and Region - Administrative tab - Language for non-unicode programs.
  2. Select Chinese or other East Asian language.
  3. Restart windows.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
