User permissions

BMC IT Business Management Suite uses permissions groups to control access to forms, modules, and functions. You define users and permissions for BMC IT Business Management Suite in BMC Remedy AR System. By using a limited number of role-based permissions groups, you can simplify the permission model administration.

At a minimum, all IT staff members have viewing access to all nonfinancial BMC IT Business Management Suite elements. You can expand this permission level for groups of users. For example, you can give groups of users Edit and Delete permissions for some or all functionality of BMC IT Business Management Suite.

The BMC IT Business Management Suite consists of modules, including BMC Demand and Resource Management. The permissions groups are grouped together within these modules. The groups of users to which you assign View or User permission for a module can access the module data and functionality, and can view all the components of the module. The groups of users to which you assign Delete permission can delete objects in that module. You can assign additional permissions to groups of users, such as User permissions for Contracts and Reviews, and Delete permissions for Vendors, Contracts, and Reviews.
