The installation program enables you to install the BMC IT Business Management Suite core components and configure the application server.

Use the following worksheets to help you collect the information that you need to specify when Performing-the-installation. Some of parameters might require you to seek assistance from a system or database administrator. This form is displayed if BMC Remedy IT Service Management foundation data (version 7.6.03 or later) is already installed in your environment. If the foundation data is not installed, the form is not displayed and the 7.6.04 version of foundation data is installed. If the foundation data is a version earlier than 7.6.03, the installation program displays an error message and you must upgrade the foundation data to version 7.6.03 or later to proceed.
If you run the installation program from a computer other than BMC Remedy AR System Server to remotely install BMC IT Business Management Suite, the installation program requires the 7.6.04 version of BMC Remedy ITSM foundation data to be present on the server.
If you run the installation program from a computer other than BMC Remedy AR System Server, when you reach this form in the installation program, you need to update the host file of the machine that you use to run the installation program to add the AR host name. To update the host file, complete the following steps:
1. Display the BMCITBusinessManagementInstallingConfiguration.xml file.
  Alternatively, you can display the bmcitbm_install_log file.
  These files are generated in the temp directory when you start the installation program.
2. Search for the key BMC_AR_SERVER_INFORMATION_FULL_HOST_NAME and copy the value.
3. Open the host file of the machine that you use to run the installation program.
4. Add the mapping of IP addresses to value of BMC_AR_SERVER_INFORMATION_FULL_HOST_NAME.
5. Continue the installation program.

Configuration for Single Sign-On

BMC Atrium Single Sign-On (BMC Atrium SSO) is an authentication system that supports many authentication protocols and provides single sign-on and single signoff for users of BMC Software products. A user can present credentials once for authentication and subsequently be automatically authenticated by every BMC Software product that is integrated into the system.
Use these options to configure BMC IT Business Management Suite to work with BMC Atrium SSO.
