Creating the data connection
The
data connection establishes a connection between a BusinessObjects universe and the database from which it will fetch information to build reports.To create the data connection
- Click Next to continue.
- Click Test Connection to verify the connection.
If you do not see The server is responding! below the button, click Back and verify that the information that you entered is correct. - On the Advanced Parameters screen, leave all default values and click Next.
- On the Custom Parameters screen, leave all default values and click Finish.
The wizard returns to the Define Connection Repository screen (Step 3/5).
- If you are using SQL Server:
- Expand Microsoft > MS SQL Server and select ODBC Drivers. Click Next.
On the Login Parameters screen, supply the following information:
- Click Next to continue.
- Click Test Connection to verify the connection.

On the Custom Parameters screen, leave all default values and click Finish.
The wizard returns to the Define Connection Repository screen (Step 3/5).
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
