Configuring access to the application from BMC Remedy AR System


To ensure that users can access BMC IT Business Management Suite from BMC Remedy AR System, you must specify the web path to the application server. This information is configured in BMC Remedy AR System and is used when users launch BMC IT Business Management Suite from the BMC Remedy AR System Home page. This is also required for users to access project information in BMC IT Business Management Suite from the BMC Remedy Change Management application. You can use the maintenance tool utility to specify the path to the application server.

To configure access to the application from BMC Remedy AR System

  1. Open the Maintenance Tool:
    • Windows:
      1. Select Start > Run.
      2. Click Browse.
      3. Change to InstallationDirectory\Utilities (for example, C:\Program Files\BMC Software\BMCITBusinessManagement\Utilities).
      4. Select BMCITBusinessManagementMaintenanceTool.cmd.
    • Linux:
      1. Go to InstallationDirectory/Utilities (for example, /opt/bmc/bmcitbmsuite/Utilities)
      2. Run ./BMCITBusinessManagementMaintenanceTool.sh

    Specify BMC Remedy AR System information and click Next.

  5. Specify the host name and port name used by BMC IT Business Management Suite to run on the application server and click Next

    Note

    You must specify a complete host name, including the domain name of the server (for example, ITBMAppServer.bmc.com).

  6. View the log file, if necessary, and click Close.

    The log file, BMCITBusinessManagementPostInstallInstallationTask, is generated in the Logs directory under the installation directory.
