Configuring a new JMS server


Complete the following steps to configure a new JMS server to create a JMS messaging engine.

To configure JMS server

  1. In the main console window, select Service Integration > Buses from the left navigation pane.
  2. In Buses, click New.
  3. In Create a new Service Integration Bus, specify the name of the bus as ITM bus, clear the Bus security check box, and click Next.
  4. Click Finish.
  5. Click Save in the Message window at the top of the screen.
  6. In Buses, click ITM bus in the Name column to complete the engine configuration.
  7. In the Buses > ITM Bus page, click the Bus members option under Topology group of options on the right.
  8. In Buses > ITM Bus > Bus members, click Add.
  9. In Add a new bus member, select Server (use the default in the list) and click Next.
  10. Select the default value for type of message store (File store) and click Next.
  11. Select the default values in Configure file store and click Next.
  12. In Tune performance parameters, click Next.
  13. Click Finish.
  14. Click Save in the Messages window at the top of the screen to commit the changes.
  15. Select ITM bus from the context navigation (Buses > ITM bus > Bus members) at the top of the screen.
  16. In the Buses > ITM Bus page, click Messaging engines under the Topology group of options on the right.
  17. In the Buses > ITM bus > Messaging engines page, click the name of the engine.
  18. From Additional Properties on the right, select the WebSphere MQ client links option.
  19. Click New to create a new client link.
  20. Specify the name as Default.MQClientLink and click OK.
  21. Click Save in the Messages window at the top of the screen to commit the changes.

To configure the JMS factory

  1. In the main console window, select Resources > JMS > Queue connection factories from the left navigation pane.
  2. Choose the Node=machineNameNode01, Server=server1 server scope.
  3. In Queue connection factories, click New.
  4. Select Default messaging provider and click OK.
  5. Specify the following options for the Connection Factory:
    • Name: ITMCF
    • JNDI name: com/itmsoft/jms/ITMJMSConnectionFactory
    • Bus name: ITM bus (select from the list)
    • Quality of service - Persistent message reliability: Reliable persistent
  6. Click OK.
  7. In the message box, click Save.

To configure JMS queues

  1. In the main console window, select Resources > JMS > Queues from the left navigation pane.
  2. Choose the Node=machineNameNode01, Server=server1 server scope.
  3. In Queues, select New.
  4. Select Default messaging provider and click OK.
  5. For the Alert queue, specify the following information:
    • Name: Queues
    • JNDI name: com/itmsoft/jms/queue/Alerts
    • Bus name: Select ITM bus from the list
    • Queue name: Create Service Integration Bus destination (Note: In the new Create a new queue for point-to-point messaging window, fill in the Identifier field with the AlertsDestination value and click Next; in the Assign the queue to a bus members window, click Next, then click Finish).
  6. Click OK.
  7. In the Messages window, click Save at the top of the screen to commit the changes.
  8. In the Queue window, select New.
  9. Select Default messaging provider and click OK.
  10. In the Queue area, enter the following information:
    • Name: Events
    • JNDI name: com/itmsoft/jms/queue/Events
    • Bus name: Select ITM bus from the list.
    • Queue name: Create Service Integration Bus destination (Note: In the new Create a new queue for point-to-point messaging window, fill in the Identifier field with the EventsDestination value and click Next; in the Assign the queue to a bus members window, click Next, then click Finish).
  11. Click OK.
  12. In the Messages box at the top of the screen, click Save to commit the changes.

To configure Activation Specification

  1. In the main console window, select Resources > JMS > Activation specifications from the left navigation pane.
  2. Choose the Node=machineNameNode01, Server=server1 server scope.
  3. In Activation specification, click New.
  4. Select Default messaging provider and click OK.
  5. Specify the following configuration:
    • Name: Alerts
    • JNDI name: com/itmsoft/jms/AlertsActivation
    • Destination type: Queue
    • Destination JNDI name: com/itmsoft/jms/queue/Alerts
    • Bus name: ITM bus
    • Subscription durability: Nondurable
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click Save.
  8. In the main console window, select Resources > JMS > Activation specifications from the left navigation pane.
  9. Choose the Node=machineNameNode01, Server=server1 server scope.
  10. In the Activation specification form, click New.
  11. Select Default messaging provider and click OK.
  12. Specify the following configuration:
    • Name: Events
    • JNDI name: com/itmsoft/jms/EventsActivation
    • Destination type: Queue
    • Destination JNDI name: com/itmsoft/jms/queue/Events
    • Bus name: ITM bus
    • Subscription durability: Nondurable
  13. Click OK.
  14. Click Save in the Messages box at the top of the screen to commit the changes.
