Updating existing exchange rate tables


To update the conversion rates manually for a fiscal period, edit the exchange rate table that is effective for that period.

To edit an existing exchange rate table

  1. In the Administration navigation pane, select Financial Settings > Exchange Rate Tables.

    The Edit Exchange Rate Table pane appears, as shown in the following figure:

    The values in an exchange rate table are the multipliers to convert the currency in that column to the book currency for costs that have accrued during the fiscal period represented by the row. Any cell that contains <default> inherits its value from the cell above it. The first row of any exchange rate table must contain numerical values, because there are no preceding cells from which to inherit the values.
  2. Replace the <default> values with current rates that are available to you.
  3. When you have finished entering conversion values, click Save and Refresh Cache to save your entries.

    Every time you update (edit) the default exchange rate table, the

    updates all the cached values that are based on the rates in that table. This action runs as a background process, so all affected screens do not update immediately. You can continue to work in the application, but performance might be affected. To avoid performance issues, update rates at the end of a day or stage the rate import for off-peak hours.
