Enabling debugging for diagnostics

The Utilities tab is a diagnostic aid for enabling or disabling debugging. The default is for debugging to be disabled. If there are errors or issues with the application, you can enable debugging by clicking Enable Debugging for more information about the server console. This causes the software to log more information to the server console and logs.

Note

In the debug node, the server writes more information to log files. BMC recommends disabling debugging after diagnosing the issue.

You can use the Invalidate System Cache button on the Utilities tab to clear the cache if cache coherence problems occur between the application and the database. This action might be helpful after a direct data insertion in the database and you need to check the results in the application without restarting the server. This function does not control application server caching.

Warning

Any changes that you make in the utilities tab do not require a restart of application server. However they do affect the performance of BMC IT Business Management Suite. Therefore you must use the utilities tab only when there is an absolute need.
