This topic describes the changes that will occur regarding the future availability and support of the BMC IT Business Management.
End of life for BMC IT Business Management
The capabilities inherent with the BMC IT Business Management are available through BMC Market Zone partner offerings. The BMC IT Business Management product has entered a limited support period that will conclude on March 31, 2016. During this period, BMC will continue supporting the currently designed functionality without new enhancements being released.

BMC will no longer offer any support for the BMC IT Business Management after March 31, 2016.
Statement of direction for the end of life of BMC IT Business Management
BMC IT Business Management is being removed as an available product. The currently available BMC IT Business Management version 8.1.03 will be the last release available. No new versions (major or minor) of BMC IT Business Management will be released after 8.1.03.
Reason for the change
In order to cater to the specific needs and requirements related to IT Financial Management and Project & Portfolio Management, BMC has determined that customers will achieve greater value through BMC Software Market Zone solutions that are highly focused on providing these capabilities.

What are the end of support timelines for BMC IT Business Management? | BMC IT Business Management versions that have not already exceeded their defined support period are placed in the limited support status. In the limited support status, new enhancements will not be released. The Customer Support team will direct customers to existing fixes, patches, or workarounds applicable to the reported case. BMC may develop new hot fixes for problems of high technical impact or business exposure for customers. In conjunction with customer input, BMC will determine the degree of impact and exposure and the consequent activities. The Customer Support team may direct customers to upgrade to a more current version, release, or service pack of the product. The Research and Development team will be engaged on critical issues only and on a limited basis for problem identification. |
Will BMC IT Business Management work properly with any future versions of the BMC Remedy ITSM Suite? | The current compatibility with Remedy ITSM suite will not change with the subsequent releases of Remedy ITSM. Effective with the 8.1.03 release BMC IT Business Management will be in limited support only mode (only defect fixes as per the support policy). Therefore, BMC will stop testing and certifying BMC IT Business Management with future (major or minor) versions of BMC Remedy ITSM beyond the currently stated compatibility defined on the BMC Product Availability and Compatibility matrix. |
