Installation and upgrade enhancements

The following changes and updates were made in the installation and upgrade process for this release:

Added support for BMC Remedy IT Service Management (ITSM) Suite version 7.6.03

You can now install BMC IT Business Management with BMC Remedy ITSM Suite version 7.6.03. In the previous release, the earliest supported version was 7.6.04.

Added log file generation for BMC Remedy Foundation components during installation

The BMC IT Business Management Suite now generates log files for providing information about BMC Remedy Foundation components. For more information about the log files, see Foundation-components-logs.

Added support for JBoss 5.1.1

You can now use version 5.1.1 of JBoss Application Server to run the BMC IT Business Management Suite. The BMC IT Business Management Suite installer supports both version 4.3 (cp008 or cp009) and version 5.1.1 of JBoss Application Server.

Added support for configuring Apache reverse proxy settings

Now you can configure Apache reverse proxy settings. Using a reverse proxy is the preferred way to deploy Java and Tomcat applications on the web.

Added support for remote (noncollocated or federated databases) deployment

Remote (noncollocated or federated databases) deployment of BMC IT Business Management Suite 8.0.00 is now supported by the standard installer. Use this deployment option if you want to federate the database layer between BMC Remedy ITSM Suite and BMC IT Business Management Suite.
