Documentation enhancements

The following documentation enhancements were made in this release:

New documentation portal for accessing online Help

BMC is now releasing product documentation in the BMC Online Technical Documentation portal. The Help menu in the BMC IT Business Management Suite user interface now displays Help in the new portal. Local Help is available for users who do not have access to the internet. Alternatively, you can configure BMC IT Business Management Suite to display PDF files that you export from the documentation portal.

Conversion from PDF format to online format

The product documents previously available in the Adobe Acrobat PDF format from the Product Documentation (A - Z Supported Product List) pages are now available in online format. To locate content from 7.6.04 PDF documents that has moved to the documentation portal, see Locating-PDFs-and-white-papers-in-the-online-documentation.

White papers updated for current release

The following white papers were updated to include more details about the application:

  • BMC IT Business Management Suite Magick URL: Provides details of Magick URL, including new configuration parameters
  • SAP BusinessObject Universes for BMC IT Business Management Suite: Provides details of enhancements to SAP BusinessObject universes and reports for the new demand and resource forecasting feature.

The following white papers were added in this release:

  • Company Hierarchy Utility: Describes the hierarchy tool that you can use to import large numbers of organizational units into BMC Remedy Action Request (AR) System and the hierarchy diagnostic utility that you can use to diagnose any errors during the import process.
  • BMC IT Business Management And BMC Atrium Integration Engine Integration Field Mapping: Describes the field mappings for each data exchange between BMC IT Business Management Suite and BMC Atrium Integration Engine (AIE). BMC IT Business Management Suite uses the AIE data exchanges to extract relevant data from the associated BMC Remedy AR System and load this data into the BMC IT Business Management Suite import staging database tables.

Configuring WebSphere application server section updated

The Configuring-WebSphere-application-server section is now organized so that the topics are in the same order as the order in which you perform the configuration. The content of the topics was updated to provide the correct configuration for BMC IT Business Management Suite 8.0.00.
