Demand and resource management enhancements
The following enhancements are included in this release:
Added resource forecasting features
BMC IT Business Management Suite now provides robust resource forecasting features that you can use to estimate resource requirements, plan and forecast staff availability, and create staff allocation scenarios for resource allocations. You can create multiple staff allocation scenarios with varying allocations to compare and identify the best resource allocation model for your organization and for identifying the resource requirements for ongoing and future projects. The resource forecasting features include auto-allocation, which can help you quickly view the distribution of available staff for the current or projected resource requirements based on the priority of the defined project.
Added new permissions for creating available staff inventory
The following new permissions enable you to create an inventory of available staff members for use in creating staff allocation scenarios:
- ITBM Staff Availability User
Users with this permission can create an inventory of available staff for their organizational units using the staff availability feature of BMC IT Business Management Suite. - ITBM Staff Availability Viewer
Users with this permission can view the available staff for their organizational units using the staff availability feature of BMC IT Business Management Suite. - ITBM Resource Mgmt Office
In conjunction with ITBM Staff Availability User permission, this permission lets users add, view and modify staff availability for all organizational units. In conjunction with ITBM Staff Availability Viewer permission, this permission lets users view staff availability for all organizational units.
Added Current Resource Manager field
The Resource Request for Task window now displays a new field, Current Resource Manager. The resource manager for a resource request can change, so you can use this field to view the current resource managers. The Resource Manager field always displays the name of the resource manager who approved the request.
