Managing IT services
After creating your services, you can:
- View summary information at any time. The summary information of a service includes all resources and services related to a service. You can edit the summary information to add more information or modify the existing information.
- Generate cost models that model any service that you want to track for your organization. A cost model represents how a service is used within your organization and the associated cost of using the service. You can associate consumption metrics to a cost model to track the use of the service by organizational units.
- Specify and view direct costs related to services. The direct cost of a service is displayed as the foundation cost when you create a cost model for that service. The direct cost is typically used to gather cost information from external data sources for service-level integration. You can also use direct cost when you take the top-down approach to cost planning for services.
- Generate financial summaries related to services. You can view the financial summary of a service after you have created a cost model and added a consumption metric to the cost model. The financial summary shows the cost and consumption information associated with a service.
