Viewing your timecards
New Timecards automatically appear on the My Timecards screen for every individual for whom timecarding has been enabled in his or her IT Staff record. A staff member's initial new Timecards are blank. As the staff fills out and submits those Timecards,
uses them to build a template for future Timecards for this individual. To save time for the typical IT staff member, who may work on the same task from week to week, the new Timecards that are created are pre-populated with the tasks from previously submitted Timecards. To view your Timecards
Select My Timecards under the Home option on the left navigation bar of the
window. Timecard-only users will see only the My Timecards screen when they log on to the BMC IT Business Management Suite. The My Timecards screen includes lists of both your active Timecards and your approved Timecards.
- The Active Timecards list displays the status of each Timecard, as follows:
- Before you submit a Timecard, the status displayed is Open.
- After you submit a Timecard but before it is approved, the status displayed is Pending Approval.
- If your Timecard is rejected, the status displayed is Rejected.
- If your Timecard submission is past due (more than five days past the end date), the status displayed is Submission Delayed.
- After your Timecard is approved, it moves to your Approved Timecards list, and you can no longer edit it.
- The Approved Timecards list displays all your Timecards that have been approved.
- To populate the list the first time you display it, you must specify the search criteria. The next time you display this screen, it shows the results of the last search criteria you specified.
- To display a different list, change the search criteria.
- To sort the list by a different criterion, click the corresponding column heading. To reverse the sort order, click the heading again.
- To view the details of an approved Timecard, click View on the corresponding row in the Actions column.
