Changing the state of a project


The state of a project indicates the overall activity and commitment level of a Project. For example, pending compared to active state of a project. The state is changed manually by using values that are the same across all Projects. When you change the state, there may be consequences in

. For example, a Project that has been identified as cancelled is locked. That means you cannot make any further changes to the project and it is not included in any list of Projects to be prioritized.

The state of a Project is different from the status(that you access using the Status Tab in the Projects Details window) of the Project. {{}}Both options are included in the Project Details, but they have different meanings and usage in

. The Status tab on the Project Details page provides one place for you to summarize various aspects of project health. For example, you can quickly report on the schedule and delivery health of the project by choosing from pre-defined values.
