Managing projects

While multi-million dollar IT initiatives are almost always rigorously managed, the bulk of the IT workload is often untracked or primarily managed in countless individual spreadsheets.

provides a standard and centralized means of managing the lifecycle of any IT project. From the creation of project lifecycle templates through project approval cycles to project completion, you can track the status of any project and quickly identify the next required step. Each new project is based on a project lifecycle template that is selected from one or more templates that have been customized to reflect the processes of your IT organization. The lifecycle template may include one or more approval gates, which are inserted at crucial points and require approvals from specified individuals before the project can continue.
As you make budget and resource decisions about projects in the context of the IT organization, it is important to be able to create collections of projects so that you can view the aggregate data.
