delivers resource estimation and planning capabilities designed specifically for the IT environment:

  • Characterizing IT capacity: The system administrator categorizes job functions and groups them into Job Families to create an overview of IT staff and contractor resources.
  • Responding to resource requests: Project managers request staff resources by name or category for specified project tasks. Resource managers receive the requests and assign their staff resources to the project tasks. Project managers receive confirmation from the resource managers that staff was assigned to the tasks.

  • Analyzing IT capacity against demand: IT managers see how their resources are being used, so that they can identify current and potential staff overloads.
