Preparing for remote installation

You can run the installation program from a computer other than BMC Remedy AR System Server to remotely install BMC IT Business Management Suite. Before installing

on a remote computer, make the following preparations:

  • Ensure that version 7.6.04 of BMC Remedy IT Service Management Foundation data is present on the remote server.
  • Ensure that the installation computer does not contain the BMC Remedy AR System configuration file in the same directory structure as that of the remote computer.

    Remote installation of BMC IT Business Management Suite fails if identical directory structures for the BMC Remedy AR System configuration file exist on the computer from which you are installing (for example, c:/Program Files/BMC Software/Remedy/ar.conf) and the remote computer on which you are installing. In such a case, the installation program uses the path for the local computer instead of the remote computer and results in an incomplete installation.
