Preparing BMC Remedy AR System Server if BMC Remedy Encryption Security  is activated


If you activated BMC Remedy Encryption Security on BMC Remedy AR System Server, you must deactivate it before you install BMC IT Business Management. Installing the product on an encrypted BMC Remedy AR System server is not supported. You can reactivate BMC Remedy Encryption Security after the installation is finished.

To deactivate BMC Remedy Encryption Security

  1. Log on to the BMC Remedy AR System server.
  2. Open the AR System Administration Console.
  3. Select System > General > Server Information.
  4. On the Server Information form, click the Encryption tab.
  5. In the New Encryption Settings area, select Disabled in the Security Policy list, and click Apply.
  6. Restart the BMC Remedy AR System server.
  7. Run the BMC IT Business Management Suite installation program.

To reactivate BMC Remedy Encryption Security after installing the application

  1. Log on to the BMC Remedy AR System server.
  2. Open the AR System Administration Console.
  3. Choose System > General > Server Information.
  4. On the Server Information form, click the Encryption tab.
  5. In the New Encryption Settings area, select Optional or Required in the Security Policy list, and click Apply.
