Preinstallation tasks for installing BusinessObjects

  • Ensure that you have your BusinessObjects license files available. You will need it when installing the server and desktop products. 

    Warning

    Note

    If you put the license files in a shared folder on your network, they will be conveniently available for installing multiple copies of the desktop products.

    However, you must ensure that this shared folder is accessible at all times to the server and desktop products that use it.

  • Ensure that the Windows account from which you install the BusinessObjects server products is either a local administrator account on the server computer or a domain user account that has been granted local administrator permissions and privileges. BMC recommends creating a service account for this purpose.
  • ASP.NET V1.1 is required for BusinessObjects to be deployed on IIS Server.
