Configuring integration with AIE

If you have your data set up in BMC Atrium Configuration Management Database (BMC Atrium CMDB), or BMC Remedy ITSM, then you can use the BMC Atrium Integration Engine (AIE) Console in BMC Remedy AR System to upload that information into BMC IT Business Management Suite via the staging tables.

To use the AIE console, configure the AIE integration information in one of the following ways:

  • The BMC IT Business Management Suite installation program automatically configures the AIE integration information during installation, but only if AIE is already installed on the computer where you are installing the BMC IT Business Management Suite core components.

Note

If you are upgrading from version 7.6.03 to 8.0.00, when you run the installation program the first time, the program overwrites any existing AIE integration information.

If you are upgrading from version 7.6.04 or 7.6.04 SP1 to 8.0.00, when you run the installation program the first time, the program overwrites any existing AIE integration information. You are warned that content will be overwritten, and that you should back up any customizations before proceeding.

  • You use the Maintenance Tool to configure the integration data. You must install AIE before running the Maintenance Tool to set up the configuration. Run the Maintenance Tool from the computer where the BMC IT Business Management Suite core components are installed.

To configure integration with AIE

  1. Open the Maintenance Tool:
    • Windows:
      1. Select Start > Run.
      2. Click Browse.
      3. Change to <InstallationDirectory>\Utilities (for example, C:\Program Files\BMC Software\BMCITBusinessManagement\Utilities).
      4. Select BMCITBusinessManagementMaintenanceTool.cmd.
    • Linux:
      1. Go to <InstallationDirectory>/Utilities* (for example, /opt/bmc/bmcitbmsuite/Utilities)
      2. Run ./BMCITBusinessManagementMaintenanceTool.sh# Click the Load AIE Mapping Utility tab and click Next.
  2. Specify BMC Remedy AR System information and click Next.
  3. Specify AIE Host information and click Next.
  4. View the log file, if necessary, and click Close.
