Localizing the application


To localize BMC IT Business Management Suite, you can select a single language or multiple languages when you install BMC IT Business Management Suite. To add languages not selected during the initial installation, run the installation program again and select the additional language to install. English is the default language on all platforms, and you cannot clear it from selection during installation.

The ability to load multiple languages on to a single client computer enables users to move seamlessly between languages by simply changing the preferred locale setting.

To localize the application, you can complete the following tasks:

The benchmark data is installed in the locale that you specify at installation. Therefore, even if you install all supported languages, the benchmark data appears in only one language in BMC IT Business Management Suite. You can repeat the installation process to install benchmark data in another language. However, the new benchmark data replaces any existing data that you have for any locale.

The following data is not localized in BMC IT Business Management Suite:

  • The following selection lists:
    • General ledger account (The Out-of-box information is only in English)
    • Regions
    • Sites
  • Out-of-the-box job categories are available only in English.
