Configuring BMC HelixGPT for BMC Helix Telco Extensions

To use the generative AI capabilities of BMC HelixGPT for BMC Helix Telco Extensions, you must enable and configure BMC HelixGPT from the BMC Helix Innovation Studio. This configuration allows users to generate natural language summaries of impacted services, sites, and regions, helping them interpret complex impact data. Impact summaries include the following key sections:

Total number of Impacted Services
Top site, product category and type combinations with the highest number of impacted services by impact level
Top sites having the highest number of impacted services
Impacted services distributed by impact level across different regions
Best action recommendation
Impact trends

Before you begin

Make sure you have BMC HelixGPT product license.

To enable BMC HelixGPT

From the BMC Helix ITSM menu bar, select Application launcher > HelixGPT Agent Studio.
From the Applications list, select the BMC Helix Telco Extensions app from the drop-down list.
Select the Impact analysis summarization skill.
On the Prompts tab, make sure that the Impact Summarization Prompt is selected.
Open BMC Helix ITSM application, from the BMC Helix ITSM menu bar > Settings.
Select HelixGPT Configuration > GPT configuration.
On the GPT configuration, verify that the Impact analysis summarization intent type is active.

To customize the skill

The impact analysis summarization is an out-of-the-box skill that you cannot edit or customize. But you can copy this skill and create your own skill based on your requirements. When you add your own skill to HelixGPT Agent Studio, make sure you copy the skill ID and paste it into the GPT configuration under BMC Helix Telco Extensions.

Create a new skill in HelixGPT Agent Studio. For more information, see Creating and managing skills.
Copy the skill ID of the newly added skill.
from the BMC Helix ITSM menu bar > Settings.
Select HelixGPT Configuration > GPT configuration.
Select the Impact analysis summarization intent type.
On the Edit HelixGPT Configuration, paste the skill ID in the Skill field.
Click Save.

The impact analysis summarization is an out-of-the-box prompt that you cannot edit or customize. But you can copy this prompt and create your own prompt based on your requirements.
