Troubleshooting task location issues


When you manually update a task location based on the CI location, you might encounter some issues.


The following table provides the issue details and the resolutions.

The Update task location button is not displayed.

  • Occurs when BMC Helix Network Service Operations  is not enabled.
  • Occurs when the user does not have the appropriate permissions.
  • Make sure that BMC Helix Network Service Operations  is enabled.
  • Make sure that the user has the appropriate permission to edit the task.

The Update task location button is disabled.

  • The Region, Site group, or Site fields are blank for the selected CI.
  • You have selected multiple CIs.
  • Select a CI with values in the Region, Site group, or Site fields.
  • Select only one CI.

The following error message is displayed:

The task location cannot be updated with the CI location as the selected CI location is not valid. (245106)

Occurs when the CI location is invalid or if the CI site is offline.

Select another CI.

The following error message is displayed:

The task location cannot be updated with the CI location as the CI company is different than the task company. (245107)

Occurs when the CI company is different from the company of the task.

Select another CI with the same company as the task company.

The following error message is displayed:

The task location cannot be updated with the CI location as the task location is the same as the CI location. (245102)

Occurs when the CI location and the task location are the same.

Select another CI.
