Enabling the simplified REST API

Before you can use the BMC Helix Innovation Suite simplified REST API, you must configure the host URL in BMC Helix Innovation Suite.

Before you begin

Make sure that you have an Administrator role in BMC Helix Innovation Suite.

To configure the host URL

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio with Administrator role and navigate to the Workspace tab.
  2. On the Workspace tab, navigate to Libraries > ITSM-REST-API.
  3. Go to the Configurations tab and click ITSM REST API Configurations.
  4. In the Enable Access From area, select the following checkboxes:
    1. Innovation Studio
    2. Application2023-06-07_13-16-20.png
  5. Click Administration tab and select ITSM REST API Configurations.

  6. Edit the Host-URL field and specify the BMC Helix ITSM: Smart IT host name and port number.
    For example, http://company-smarit.onbmc.com.

  7. Click Save.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
