Relating a change request to an impact simulation 

After running a simulation, you might determine that the predicted results of a simulated change are acceptable. If you want to make the changes in the working environment, you can open a change request directly from CMDB Impact Simulator.

Before you begin

  • BMC Helix ITSM: Change Management must be installed. 
  • You must have Infrastructure Change Master, Infrastructure Change User, or Infrastructure Change Submit permissions to create a change request. Please check with the administrator to see if you have the right permissions.

To create a related request

  1. In BMC Helix ITSM: Change Management console, run or load an impact simulation.
  2. To create a related change request, select Change Request from the Relate to New list.
  3. Click Relate to New.
    A new form in the related application opens that you can edit to submit a request.
