HBA cards and FC ports
Computers have an I/O adaptor card called a host bus adapter (HBA) which connects to the fabric layer. The fabric layer is the network port of SAN (such as cables, hubs, SAN switches, or RAID controller). The following diagram shows a host with two HBAs with each having two Fibre Channel (FC) ports. The HBA card is modeled by using BMC_Card while each port is modeled as BMC_NetworkPort. The World Wide Port Name (WWPN) identifiers can be used for HBAs and Ports as the Namefield value.
