Announcement and recommendations

H2 Database Engine in Atrium Integrator Spoon jobs.

Starting with version 22.1 release, due to third-party security vulnerabilities, BMC will discontinue support for H2 Database Engine.

When you create an  Atrium Integrator  Spoon job, you will no longer be able to connect to an H2 Database and existing jobs that refer to an H2 Database will not work anymore.

You must manually recreate the jobs and connect to a different database.

BMC Impact Model Designer

BMC Impact Model Designer has been deprecated from BMC Helix CMDB. You can access this feature from TrueSight Infrastructure Management. For information about using Impact Model Designer from TrueSight Infrastructure Management, see Administering service models and Configuring service models using CMDB forms.

Limited support for Drift Management

Drift Management is not available in the following versions:

  • BMC CMDB 20.02
  • BMC CMDB 20.08
  • BMC Helix CMDB 21.02
  • BMC Helix CMDB 21.05
  • BMC Helix CMDB 21.3

The documentation provided in these versions for Drift Management is for information only.

Drift Management in your existing BMC CMDB installation is not affected. However, if you perform a fresh installation of BMC CMDB, Drift Management will not be available.

Starting with BMC Helix CMDB version 22.1.xx, Drift Management is available for SaaS and on-premises customers. For information about deploying Drift Management, see BMC Helix Service Management deployment documentation.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 11

Starting with the 21.02 release (targeted for February 2021), BMC will not support the use of Microsoft Internet Explorer version 11 with BMC CMDB.

For a complete list of BMC products that will no longer support Internet Explorer 11, see the BMC Customer Support Communities page.

As technology continues to advance, it has become more challenging to resolve browser-specific issues related to Internet Explorer 11. We may attempt to fix some issues related to that version, but some features may not work as expected.

Because of security compromises and performance issues, we recommend that you do not use Internet Explorer 11. Instead, we encourage you to switch to other fully supported browsers.

BMC will still support Internet Explorer 11 on releases of BMC products prior to version 21.02 where Internet Explorer 11 was already supported.

Important: Microsoft still supports Internet Explorer 11 on some operating systems (including Microsoft Windows 8.1 and 10 and Windows Server 2012 and 2016). For more information, see the Microsoft Lifecycle FAQ - Internet Explorer and Edge page.

CMDBWS

CMDBWS is the deprecated Web Services that was released in BMC Atrium Configuration Management Database (BMC Atrium CMDB) 2.1. It does not support the new WS-Security of BMC Atrium Core, and it is provided only to support existing integrations until it is removed in a future release.

BMC Atrium Integration Engine

BMC Atrium Core includes BMC Atrium Integration Engine for the integration of BMC Atrium CMDB and BMC Remedy AR System with other applications and data sources. BMC Atrium Integration Engine enables you to transfer data between BMC Atrium CMDB classes and BMC Remedy AR system forms to and from external systems.

Statement of direction for the end of life of BMC Atrium Integration Engine

BMC Atrium Integration Engine is being replaced with a new offering called Atrium Integrator. The currently available BMC Atrium Core version 8.1 will be the last release that includes BMC Atrium Integration Engine. No new versions (major or minor) of BMC Atrium Integration Engine will be released after 8.1.

To get complete compatibility information for BMC Helix ITSM, use the BMC Solution and Product Availability and Compatibility Utility on the Product Availability & Compatibility page.
