Promoting CMDB CDM Definitions across environments

You can reliably promote CMDB CDM definitions across development, QA, and production environments by using Deployment Application.

Considerations

  • BMC facilitates promotion of the following CMDB CDM definitions:
    • Class
    • Attributes
  • Currently, BMC does not support rollback of CMDB CDM Definitions.
  • To use Deployment Application for promoting CMDB CDM Definitions, you must have:
    • Action Request System and BMC Helix CMDB installed. 
    • Administrator permission to create and deploy package using CMDB Content Type.

Workflow

The following graphic illustrates the end-to-end process for promoting CMDB CDM using the Deployment Management Console.
